The work I do in healthcare is among the most meaningful in my portfolio. I feel privileged to be invited behind the scenes, witnessing the dedication of clinical staff and the workings of a hospital environment. Patients are often generous and willing to contribute to imagery that helps demystify the hospital experience for others.
Sensitivity is key in these environments—knowing when to lean in and capture a moment and when to step back and give people space.
This work is not just about photography; it requires emotional intelligence and empathy to ensure everyone feels comfortable and respected.
I am fully DBS registered, and if you’re looking to create powerful visuals that reflect the humanity and dedicated service of our healthcare professionals and the people that they serve, I’d love to hear from you.
“Working with Gary is always a delight and a pleasure. Over the 10 years I’ve worked with him he has unfailingly delivered fabulous images that have established the visual brand of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. His images perfectly capture our dedicated workforce and the meaningful moments that tell the story of relationships between our care givers and patients and between colleagues.
He works fast and efficiently with little fuss and lots of charm and has the wonderful knack of being able to put his subjects at ease in the midst of busy wards and hospital clinics.
He always ‘gets’ the brief and is incredibly accommodating and happy to work long days and trek long corridors. Gary’s post shoot production and delivery is incredibly straight forward and swift too. The images we receive provide us with a rich resource of library photos to use on our website, in social media and in reports and presentations.”

I shot the images for this London-wide campaign commissioned by the UK Health Security Agency.
It focused on reaching underrepresented communities and encouraging vaccine uptake, with imagery placed across NHS platforms and public transport networks.
The photography involved pre-shoot planning, collaboration with the client to establish a shared visual direction, and full shoot execution—from creative input to on-the-day delivery.
